Ansible and Cloud Vision Portal

This repo contains custom Ansible modules and playbooks for parsing/evaluating data returned from CVP.

Ansible-Playbooks

get-cvp-eos-xcvrs.yaml - Ansible-Playbook that will query CVP to get all transceiver types installed on all assocaited switches. The cvp_pass can be replaced with an ansible-vault encrypted string, or plain-text password.

Requirements

• rcvp_telem.py - Module installed on the Ansible host machine

Tested Versions

• Ansible: 2.7.x
• CloudVision Portal: 2018.1.4 or 2018.2.x

Ansible Modules

modules/rcvp_telem.py - Module used to parse interface data returned from CVP.

Installation

Copy the Ansible module Python files to the ansible/modules/ directory within the Python site-packages directory.

NOTE:

The group_vars/TEMPLATE_all.yml file will need to be copied and modified.

cp group_vars/TEMPLATE_all.yml group_vars/all.yml

Then update all of the following fields/parameters within the groups_vars/all.yml file:

• cvp_user:
• cvp_pass:
• smtp_server:
• smtp_port:
• email_users:
• email_username:
• email_password:
