After a certain amount of regular 1:1s (my sweet spot is between 2-3 months), people start bringing up problems and sharing information without me asking anything. We discuss those problems and exchange opinions. Once I understand the person’s background, skills, and capabilities, these discussions evolve into a different shape as I nudge them to bring recommendations along with the problem.
