Plants

Let's create a new plant app! Should we track the plants we have? Track when they were watered, how healthy they are, what kind of fertilizer they like? Where do they live?

Getting started

**Important Information: ** If you are using the App from last year OR you imported this app prior to 10-1-2024 you will need to remove the application from your instance and reimport it from this repo. The application has been replaced with a new scope/app files.

  1. Fork this repo
  2. Go to your ServiceNow instance
  3. Go to System Applications => Studio
  4. Once Studio loads, select Import From Source Control
  5. Use your forked repo to Import your application
  6. Make updates to the application
  7. In Studio, commit your changes to source control
  8. Submit a pull request to the ServiceNowDevProgram/Plants main branch

Contribution ideas

  • Automate task creation for watering, fertilizing, etc
  • Create an experience to be able to manage your plants
  • Bring in plant data from other sources
  • Create a way to track plant progress over time
  • Add potting information (size, type, when it was repotted, soil type, etc)
  • Plant location (indoor, distance to window, outdoor, in the ground? in a pot?)
  • Look at the local weather, did it rain today? If so, log the outdoor plants as watered
