May 2022: Nanocoins now serve a new purpose which we can't disclose at this point in time.

About

With Nanoblox, not only can you sell gamepasses to reward users with a permanent group of commands, you can also sell developer products to reward one-time or limited use groups of commands / permissions / abilities via Roles.

Developer products typically take 9 seconds to purchase from prompting to receiving the product. It would be frustrating for players to keep waiting this long every single time they bought a product (such as a 1-time nuke command), therefore we introduce Nanocoins, represented by N$, which can be bulk-bought then instantaneously exchanged for one-time or limited-use roles (therefore one-time or limited-use groups of commands). We represent Nanocoins using 'N$' as apposed to an image (such as what Roblox do with Robux due to it's similarity to the Indian Rupee), as this is easy for players to write and talk about in areas such as the chat.

Nanocoins can be used by game developers to provide incentives, one-off-rewards and milestone-rewards to players. For example:

  • Daily Login Bonus (reward 5 N$ each day the player joins)
  • Daily Streak Rewards (1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 then 20 N$ on day 7 for example)
  • Premium Rewards (e.g. premium users get 5 N$ every 15 minutes)
  • Premium Purchase Incentives (e.g. buy premium in this game to receive 100 N$)
  • Level Targets (e.g. reward Nanocoins every time the player achieves a new level in-game)
  • And much more!

Ultimately these then serve as a way to boost user engagement, playtime, recurring joins, premium payouts, revenue, and much more, for game developers.

We may also explore the automatic rewarding of Nanocoins to select Nanoblox contributors to further incentivise community contributions and development. For example, if player Raza is a Contributor within the group Nanoblox, automatically reward them 50 N$ when they join a game with Nanoblox for the first time. This as a result enables us to provide contributor incentives without the abuse of power as game developers ultimately decide what or what-not Nanocoins can do within their experiences.

Checklist

  • if clicking/executing command that requires N$ and not enough, display N$ popup page
  • determine how commands are assigned N$ cost
    • should this be through commands tags or a command property, such as command.NanocoinsRequired
    • how does the associates role(s) deduct nanocoins?
  • an internal commands (+role) to allow members of the nanoblox team to get free coins
  • provide prebuilt features/settings to handle the incentives mentioned in About:
    • Daily Login Bonus (+ an additional Premium bonus)
    • Daily Streak Bonus
    • Premium Playtime Reward
    • Premium Purchase Reward
  • consider a 'shortcut' way to quickly create commands. for example, the main way to achieve this is to go to create a role, modify the remove behvaiour, add the commands, and add the developer product, but maybe a unique interface could help achieve this quicker?
