The e-paper display fades out when exposed to direct sunlight in warm conditions. UV protection already applied and it didn't solve the issue. Probably it is due to the internal overheating of the module. In fact, the e-paper display we are using is rated +50°C, and it reasonably gets warmer on sunny days under direct sunlight.

This issue might be solved by refreshing the dark pixels that need to be dark on the next monitor refresh iteration. Currently, epdiy updates only the pixels that are light, leaving the already-dark ones untouched. This is usually preferable for normal working conditions. However, under heavy sunlight, the dark pixels that remain untouched will fade out.
It's important to check first if epdiy supports refreshing already-dark pixels.
