Please read and study about the visualization pipeline with some additional explanations.

Assign your thesis tasks listed in the wiki to the pipeline steps, describe shortly what operations are performed. Write your results into the wiki for now, you will later just copy them into the thesis.

It might be that a single task requires actions in several steps. There might be several iterations or parallel runs of the pipeline required.

E.g. for a collapsible tree:

  • Analysis = The input data is connected to a tree structure
  • Filtering = Interactive persistent collapsing of graph vertices
  • Mapping = a graph is build so that: vertices .. rules, edges .. shapes produced by the rules; uniform size for uncollapsed vertices, size is proportional to the amount of hidden children for collapsed vertices
