I might be good to add some basic check for dwi.nii.gz, as this app usually runs as the very first step in our pipeline. We could check for..

make sure the file exists (Brainlife sometimes fails to stage..)
file format is correct, and not truncated (sometimes transfer fails in the middle..)
etc..
