Discussed in #540

Once the lifeform has been resettled on this planet, you have the option to settle one of the previously discovered lifeforms.

Introduction

  • All active lifeform construction queues will be cancelled and the raw materials reclaimed.
  • The exploration ships dispatched from this planet will abort their flight.
  • If humans were the last lifeform selected, all exploration ships from all planets will abort their flight.
  • All building and research levels will be retained.

Content Overview - Four different lifeforms have been added

  • Of the 4 lifeforms, 3 are oriented towards certain playing styles (miners, fleeters and explorers). The other is the starting lifeform.
  • Lifeforms must be discovered before players can settle them on their planets (only the starting lifeform has the technology to discover other lifeforms).
  • Each lifeform has 12 unique buildings (for a total of 48).
  • Each lifeform has 18 species technologies (for a total of 72 new techs).
  • The species techs are like a talent tree which players can manipulate and personalise from all the species they have discovered.
  • Players can freely choose which lifeforms to add to their planets.
  • Players can freely choose which lifeforms to add to their planets.
  • Two new resources have been added: Lifeforms and Food.
  • Players need to breed their lifeforms in order to unlock species tech on their planets. The more lifeforms a player has, the better the technologies they can utilise.
  • Lifeforms are basically a resource which cannot be transported or stolen.
  • Lifeforms are basically a resource which cannot be transported or stolen.
  • Lifeforms consume food which players must provide if they are to prosper.
  • Food is a resource that can be transported or stolen.

Lifeforms

Humans
165549364-16f3c4d7-01d8-4419-909e-5eb27d7ba08f

In the mid-21st century, humanity unlocked the potentials of hyperdrive technology and were finally able to explore the furthest reaches of space. Over the generations, humans have spread throughout the universe, settling countless planets. In this quadrant of the galaxy, humanity is the most commonly encountered lifeform. Humans have earned themselves a reputation as reliable traders, and they maintain good commercial relations with various other species. A balanced lifeform, they can rapidly exploit natural resources, have decent military technologies, and place great store in research. By terraforming planets, they are capable of constructing more buildings, and know how to defend themselves when under attack.

  • Humans are the basic species which every player automatically starts with.
  • They are the only species equipped with the technology to discover other lifeforms in the galaxy.
  • Humans are perfect for a balanced playing style, covering all the bases, but with a particular focus on research speed.
  • Their special building protects a certain percentage of their lifeforms from being killed if successfully attacked.

Rock’tal

The Rock’tal normally inhabit planetoids with great proximity to their stars, places that would be uninhabitable for other species. Their stony exteriors and slow metabolisms make them resilient to living in conditions which few others could ever call home. For centuries they have lived on minerals which they exploit as their primary source of nutrition. Hence it is no wonder that they are specialists in the techniques of mining ores and minerals which they need to safeguard their very survival. Since the Rock’tal never become estranged from their natural environments, they are capable of constructing buildings quickly, cheaply and energy efficiently. They are also highly effective at resource acquisition.

  • The Rock’tal are archetypal miners.
  • They are highly specialised in producing resources and energy.
  • Their special building allows them to convert destroyed fleets into resources during an assault (when a Rock’tal planet is attacked).
  • Their special tech bonus provides a bonus to the Collector class.

Mechas

Mechas are AIs which can replicate themselves faster than any other lifeforms. They communicate via an artificial neural network, which is a core factor in allowing them to deploy improved combat strategies. Since Mechas lack any form of emotional capabilities, their actions are not hampered by potential moral considerations. A controller AI in the network is constantly on the hunt for new opportunities for conquest and exploitation. Other species fear the Mechas’ superior military technology, with good reason: their fleets are cheaply constructed, equipped with sophisticated weapons systems and constantly kept in good repair with nanobots.

  • The Mechas are archetypal fleeters.
  • Mechas are specialists at increasing the firepower of their ships and fleets.
  • They can also reduce their fuel requirements for fleet operations, as well as reducing ship production costs and building times.
  • Their special building improves the stats of the Space Dock, allowing them to recover more ships from battles (synergising well with the General class).
  • Their special tech perk provides a bonus for the General class.

Kaelesh
165549771-383836a4-a7f8-4e64-9980-c58a770c4688

The origins of the Kaelesh literally lie in the stars: they are born in the safety of the fabric between space and time. They do not settle upon planets until they reach a certain age, but upon doing so, they travel through the cosmos in search of their own kind, covering many light-years. Before settling a planet, they must pass a test before the Council of Unity. The Kaelesh use their metaphysical properties in their exploration of the universe. As a result of the many galactic secrets they have unlocked, they have been able to make great leaps and bounds in their technological advancement. They are renowned for their effective exploration missions and their ability to see far into the depths of space.

  • The Kaelesh are archetypal explorers.
  • They are particularly specialised in expeditions, conducting them with increased speed and earning more resources.
  • They also accelerate general and lifeform technology research speeds.
  • Their special building increases the chance of successful moon shots.
  • Their special tech bonus provides a bonus to the Discoverer class.
  • The two new resources Population and Food are fields of the table "Planets" they work independently of each other
  • It is investigating whether the musings are also parts of each planet or it is an account because at the moment it does not specify if you can create an account with other races, it thinks not.
  • It is investigating how the formation of the population works, it is believed that it is as a percentage and it is stored in various fields of the planets or Resources table. Although the population is based on 3 Basic, Advanced and Expert Population in English Tier 1, 2 and 3
  • There are no new types of ships but they are investigations that arise to the main ship.
  • New life form search mission is enabled with Intergalactic Envoys technology. which has a percentage per level for searches.
  • Once you find the life form when you colonize the planet, the option without life form will appear where you can choose between the life form, Found or the human. each planet has its life form, (In investigation if a planet can have up to 4 life forms)
  • The mission of the life forms is number 18 - Being the 16 expeditions and the 17 Space Debris
  • Moons cannot support life forms but if they can store food
  • Life forms when the planet is attacked are also reduced, Food can be stolen as another resource.
  • Life forms cannot be stopped or reduced, we don't know if this is a bug or a mechanic that is being investigated
