PingPoint

PingPoint Icon

PingPoint is a macOS status bar app that monitors network connectivity and provides immediate visual feedback on your current network status through a color-coded icon. If ever the internet goes down by a bad connection PingPoint will notify you in the moment and give you the option to switch networks quickly



Say goodbye to the frustration of not knowing whether your internet is down or why your video call isn't working. With PingPoint, you'll never have to guess about your connection issues again – it's like having a network watchdog right in your menu bar.

Tested Environment

  • macOS Sonoma (version 14) on M1 Archetecture

Features

  • Displays a status icon in the macOS menu bar.
  • Color changes to green when online and red when offline.
  • instantly recognizes when offline and online
  • Clickable status bar icon with additional menu options.
  • Menu includes app information and a quit option.

Installation

To use PingPoint, you can clone the repository and build the project using Xcode.

git clone https://github.com/Ameer-Jamal//pingpoint.git
cd PingPoint
open PingPoint.xcodeproj
Build the project in Xcode and run the app.

Usage

Once running, PingPoint resides in your menu bar:

  • A green dot indicates an active internet connection.
  • A red dot indicates no internet connectivity.
  • Clicking the icon reveals additional information and options.
